Carry On Bag Canvas Travel Duffel Tote Unisex Weekender Bag (Black) This bag is the perfect size for a long weekend trip. In fact, it's going to take me to England next month for a 4-day trip. It can hold a pair of jeans, 2 shirts, a long dress, a nightshirt, a pair of shoes, my toiletries, socks and lingerie, a light jacket, my 7-inch tablet and accessories. It's all the luggage I'm taking for the 4 days and I'll have room to spare for the unforeseen things I'll be bringing. It's way too cool to keep it in the "Batcave." Yes, it does all of the neat stuff my son, the gamer, needs. The keyboard is programmable. It's backlit. It's clicky. The keys are raised. The setup is changeable. It does lots of stuff and it's made for gaming. He loves it. Well, he's going to have to get his own... Let me tell you why Mama's keeping this keyboard. First of all, the action is great! I'm a typist. I mean, I'm a transcriptionist. I pound the keys. I eat keyboards for lunch. They don't last very long around me now that keyboards are all soft and mushy. This keyboard is made to take a pounding. What it boils down to is pain. A lot of it. My forearm aches constantly and hurts to the touch. The only time it feels well is when it's held tightly. I have been wearing tennis elbow support straps for a while now. There are several different kinds, but they all do the same thing. This one does it well and is easily adjustable to any size forearm. It's easy to put on one handed and doesn't cause any allergic reaction from the material. The Velcro works well and the stitching is good and tight. The pad inside is great. some of these are air filled and risk puncture. This one is firm (not hard) and cushy enough to press but not hurt. When it's on right, it applies perfect pressure to the sore spot. There's even a manual card with pictures to show how to use it, although I'm quite familiar with how to do it. The greatest benefit besides the pain relief is that there are two in the package. You can wash one and wear the other while it's being cleaned. This is a great benefit. You don't know what you've got 'til it's gone... Well, you don't have to find out.

These leggings fit me well. They stretch enough to get a proper fit, but this is at the outer limit of the fit of these free-size leggings. I wear tunics and dresses with leggings underneath. I don't wear leggings by themselves, so I can't speak to how they look from the thighs up. From my perspective, I treat them as footless tights. For this purpose, they are perfect! I have six colors of footless tights, black, burgundy, brown, navy, charcoal, and olive. I like the fleece lining; it adds to the comfort factor for me. I washed the black pair in cold water and tumble dried them with no shrinking and they are ready for another wearing.

Coffee in my shower is a very good thing. Since this is a combination product, I tried both aspects today in the shower. First, I washed my hair with it. It didn't give much lather, but I'm used to low-poo and no-poo shampoos, so this isn't a factor for me. In fact, the less lather, the better. My hair rinsed out clean and nice. I used my normal conditioner. Then, I pumped two pumps into my shower pouf and washed. Definitely enough lather for washing. It might be my imagination, but I think it's invigorating to wash with a caffeinated cleanser. I mean, we have transdermal medication - so this is definitely a thing that can happen. I choose to accept this as fact. So, I'm awake and I have had my coffee in the shower! The only downside that I can see, is that there isn't enough of the product to last very long even though you don't need to use much. I'd love to see a larger size. My hair dried well and my curls are shiny and bouncy as usual.

A Grande Americano from the place on the corner has 75 mg of caffeine in addition to a whole lotta calories because of the half-and-half and sugar I put into it. The small can of red bovine drink has 80 mg and you have to drink the thing down, either with calories or sugar-free, and it's not yummy. The point, after all, is to be alert and awake. So, I opened my individually wrapped piece of gum. I was surprised at the size of it; it was pretty big. It smelled minty. I popped it into my mouth and started chewing. Minty and sweet at first and then a gush of liquid medicine was released from the gum. I'm calling it medicine, because that's what it is. It's a drug. Caffeine was what I was after and caffeine is what I got, with a unique delivery system. The first 20 seconds of the release of the liquid isn't the most pleasant, but it isn't awful. It's all relative. I got 80 mg of caffeine without the $4 coffee or the attendant calories (or the trip to go get it), or the energy drink. It reverted back to plain old spearmint gum after the medicine was deployed. The caffeine did the job.

CharmGirl&SL 925 Sterling Silver 9mm Pink Freshwater Cultured Pearl Earrings These pale pink freshwater cultured pearl earrings are elegant enough for dress-up, but simple enough for everyday wear. I received my earrings in a lovely gray pouch that will keep them safe for a long time. Pearls are delicate and I don't want to have them marred by bumping or scratching against any other jewelry in my case. These earrings have a long post, so they work in the primary piercing in my earlobe, but are too long for the higher piercings. The pearls are larger than I would place in the higher piercings anyway, so not really an issue. These look like pantyhose, but they are made "stronger" in a good way. I felt like I was held together. None of my jiggly parts jiggled, and that was the goal. I did have to work a little bit to get them on and I feared I was going to put my fingernail through them when I tugged, but they held up to that. I will not say I abused them, but they do have to be tugged on. I have visions of my mother yanking on a girdle and thank heaven above, I don't have to wear one of those! That being said, this is like a girdle for the whole lower half of my body. I felt held together in a very good way. My legs were not tired after a whole day of wearing the hose. I'm a fan. I can wear these under things that I don't want lumps and bumps to show and know that my figure will not betray me. I can honestly recommend these as a aid to helping me with self-esteem

So I have had a little bit of time to think about this. This note is not for everyone, but so many people have asked me if I felt or saw anything.
Before I knew that I had to be brought back twice during surgery, I had the memory of an experience that I told my husband about. He didn't tell me until on the way home from the hospital that the surgeon told him I "crashed" twice. This is a memory, not a remembered dream. It was real.
I went to a party. It was at my sister-in-law Barbara's apartment. Her apartment had a wooden door. I don't know the apartment number because the light was too bright. When Barbara opened the door, I could sense a huge room behind her. I heard happy voices in the room, not loud or raucous. I heard music. I smelled food and flowers.
I was all dressed up in brand-new party clothes. I remember seeing myself in a mirror. I have never been so beautiful. I glowed.
I did not knock, but the door opened when I got there. I don't know how I got there. I was just there. Barbara answered the door. She looked healthy and whole and was in her party clothes too, looking more beautiful than ever. She was always beautiful. Barbara passed away in 2001 from leukemia, but I was not surprised to see her answer this door.
She only opened the door a crack, but the light, sounds and fragrances emerged. I was really attracted to the light. It felt welcoming and friendly.
She didn't say my name. She just told me, "You can't come in yet. You have to go back."
I knew nothing for a while and then I was back at her door. This time she told me, "It's not time for you to come here. I'll let you in when you're ready." I told her that she had to let me in, after all I'd taken a helicopter to the party. I guess my helicopter ride really had an effect on me.
I know where I was. If I had gone through the door into the party, I would have never come back. I would not be writing this. I would have died and stayed that way. Barbara pushed me back into life to finish living it. It's not time yet.
I know she'll be there whenever that time is right. I have no doubt of that.

I've got a G-dwink to tell you about! This is too exciting. You know
that things always happen for a reason even though we don't know them
for a while, right?
So, here goes...
I've got this care package I've been putting together for my son, SSgt.
Rob, who's in Kunsan, Korea. He doesn't need much because they're
mostly in a "real" place. He did ask me for a few things and I actually
managed to gather them all after about 2 months. No joke, he asked me
for this stuff sometime in February, 2010.
If I lived in a normal town, not on top of a mountain at 7,000 feet
where there aren't any "real" stores, I probably would have had this
stuff bought and shipped and done with. No, I did this in G-d's time.
There's a reason...
You know there's always a reason, right?
It was a short list of stuff: Jelly Bellies. My boy wants Jelly
Bellies, he's gonna get Jelly Bellies. Parmesan flavored Goldfish
Crackers. A few oddities that he likes and can't get in Korea.
It took MONTHS to find the right-flavor Goldfish. No "flavor blasted"
kind. He doesn't like 'em. He likes the plain Parmesan flavor I used
to tempt him with when he was little. I found them on Thursday in a
store that was closing its doors up here. Right up front in the basket.
Joe took me to CostCo a few weeks ago so he could have some salmon. The
man loves fish. I despise it. He likes CostCo salmon. While he got
his fish, I wandered around looking for the gum Rob wanted and whatever
else I could find. The Jelly Bellies came in a 5-pound cannister of 49
flavors. Real Jelly Bellies, but the Kirkland/CostCo brand name.
So, I got everything on Thursday and started packing it up. I couldn't
drive on Friday because I'm on some new migraine medicine that makes me
unsafe on the road so I planned not to take it on Saturday.
Saturday errands, drug out of my system and rarin' to get my packages
mailed. I even have a birdie care package for an AF Mom in Orlando to
send out. USPS in Big Bear Lake, here I come.
I've got it all filled out, the customs form, the stuff is all ready to
go, but not sealed or weighed yet. Oh, drat - that's a window I hear
closing. It's only 1:00! I know the PO in Big Bear City is open until
2:00. I'm gonna head right over there.
Here we are at Big Bear City now, 1:15 p.m. Lines full of people. A
guy waves at me and says, "you aren't trying to MAIL something, are ya?"
Ummm, yeah, I am. They're open, right? He said, well, kind of. Mail
can be picked up but it cannot be mailed on Saturdays. They made new
rules last week.
Can we all have a big "OY VEY!"
I have been shlepping this package all around the valley trying to get
it mailed since I found the Goldfish Crackers. What's stopping me?
Here's what stopped me...
My son, John had his buddy Robert for an overnight Friday and Saturday.
We live in a mobilehome estate park and there's a clubhouse with a pool
and a Jacuzzi and exercise room. The kids were running in and out of
the pool and the hot tub like 15-year-old energy machines.
Not a bad picture unless you know a little bit of history. Robert, the
friend, is a newly diagnosed Type 1 (insulin-dependent) diabetic. He's
still pretty new at knowing his symptoms.
I had been reluctant to keep him overnight until now because his sugars
were so unpredictable. I decided to give it a go this time because he's
gained a lot of understanding about what to do and what his lows feel
like and his highs and what he can eat. I also know a lot about
diabetes because of the work I do.
So, after exercising like 2 crazy people, Robert tells me, "Mrs. Blake,
I think I'm not feeling so well." I saw his pale face, white lips,
shaking hands and grabbed my son. I told Johnny to sit with him. Don't
let him get up and I'll be right back.
I RAN to the car, grabbed the JELLY BELLIES and ran back into the
clubhouse. I ripped them open and we slowly fed him the lifesaving
sugar to bring him out of a very serious low-sugar crisis.
Those Jelly Bellies were there because G-d knew I was going to need them
that day.

The Real Change of Life, July 28, 2016
When I look at the photograph of my firstborn’s firstborn, I see hope.
I see my father’s cheekbones and my mother’s forehead.
She wears her Daddy’s ears and chin on that tiny face.
Her uncle’s mouth and her Mum’s eyes and nose.
When I look at that tiny hand wrapped around my son’s finger, I feel joy.
It’s pit-of-the stomach emotion that’s wrought from me.
My arms ache to hold her and breathe her new baby smell, but it doesn’t matter.
The spark of her life ignited the bond that is forged in love.
My baby’s baby is here and I am forever changed.
I am a grandmother
